Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern access to and use of Schoolary (the "Service", "we", "us"), a school management platform. By registering a school, signing in as an admin or teacher, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

In short: Schoolary is a tool your school uses to manage students, results, attendance, and fees. Your school is responsible for the accuracy of the data it enters and for its relationship with its own students and parents. We're responsible for keeping the platform running, secure, and available.

1. Who this applies to

These Terms apply to any "School" that registers on Schoolary, and to every individual who accesses the Service on that School's behalf, including school administrators ("Admin") and teachers ("Teacher"). Parents and guardians accessing student information through the Parent Portal are covered by our Privacy Policy but are not required to create an account, and are not party to the subscription or payment terms below.

2. The Service

Schoolary provides tools for managing student records, academic results, attendance, fee billing, and related school-administration tasks, accessed through a web application. We may add, change, or remove features over time.

3. School accounts and responsibilities

The Admin who registers a School is responsible for the accuracy of all data entered about that School, its students, staff, and fees.
The School is responsible for obtaining any consent required from parents/guardians before entering a student's personal data into Schoolary. Schoolary does not independently verify or obtain this consent — see our Privacy Policy for how responsibility is divided between the School and Schoolary.
The School is responsible for keeping Admin and Teacher account credentials secure and for all activity that occurs under its accounts.
The School must not use the Service for any student, parent, or staff member without a lawful basis for processing their data under applicable Nigerian data protection law.

4. Subscriptions and payment

Schoolary is billed per student slot per term, at the rate shown in the app at the time of purchase. Prices may change; changes won't affect a term you've already paid for.
Payments are processed by Flutterwave. Schoolary does not store your card details.
A subscription grants a fixed number of student slots for a fixed number of terms, starting from the date of activation (or, for a top-up on an active plan, added to your existing slot count without changing your expiry date).
When a subscription expires, the School's data is retained but certain features (such as adding new students beyond the free limit) may be restricted until the plan is renewed.
Refunds: Refund requests must be submitted within 7 days of purchase and will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
Refunds may be granted for duplicate payments, unresolved technical issues, or services not delivered as promised. All refunds are subject to applicable consumer protection laws. For assistance, please contact our support team..

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

Attempt to bypass, disable, or interfere with the Service's security measures, including payment verification;
Enter false payment confirmation, or attempt to activate a subscription without a genuine, verified payment;
Use the Service to store or transmit content that is unlawful, harassing, or infringes another person's rights;
Attempt to access another School's data without authorization;
Reverse-engineer, resell, or use the Service to build a competing product.

6. Data ownership and export

Each School owns the data it enters about its own students, staff, and records. You may request an export of your School's data, or deletion of your School's account and associated data, by contacting schoolaryapp@gmail.com. We will act on a deletion request within a reasonable time, subject to any records we're legally required to retain.

7. Availability

We aim to keep Schoolary available and reliable, but the Service is provided "as is" without guarantee of uninterrupted or error-free operation. We are not liable for data loss, downtime, or damages arising from use of the Service, to the maximum extent permitted by Nigerian law.

8. Termination

We may suspend or terminate a School's access if these Terms are violated, including attempts to bypass payment verification. A School may stop using the Service at any time; subscription fees already paid are non-refundable except as stated in Section 4.

9. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised Terms. Material changes will be communicated to Admins through the app or by email.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any dispute arising from these Terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of [YOUR STATE, e.g. Anambra State], Nigeria.
